Snowy Thoughts
As I sit down to write, I have just finished preparing several thermoses full of hot water, and a jug of fresh tap water, in the instance that out power goes out. I've checked the weather like clockwork today, praying that we wouldn't get hit hard. I can't help but think to myself how blessed I am despite the heavy ice that's now falling from the sky and the uncertainty of our power staying on. It's in times like these where we must cling to the promises God has made to us in order to stay positive and faithful to him. Where I live, I don't have cell service. When we lose power, we lose all forms of communication. I just wanted to let my readers know that if I'm not on here for a day or so, then it is because we have lost power. Know that in this time of what I refer to as "quiet time," I will still be thinking of my readers and continuing to come up with new material to share with everyone. Now, I'd like to take a second to share a little prayer with you all during this icy winter storm.
Heavenly Father,
I want to take a second to praise you amidst this storm. Even when we are faced with storms, you are still with us. For you command the snow to fall from the sky. Your hands have made each flake unique before it's freefall to the ground below. Your work is amazing, and far beyond anything we can fathom on earth. Father, I ask that you be with those struggling through the weather right now. There are car accidents everywhere we look. There are people who are homeless and have no shelter from this frigid weather. There are people who are snowed in and can't get to town to get what they need. People everywhere have frozen water lines and don't have the ability to bathe, wash clothes, or even drink their normally readily available water. Lord, I pray that you help these people and provide for them everything they need in this storm. I also pray that you be with the men and women out there cleaning not only the roads, but the sidewalks and parking lots too. Lord, they are clearing safe paths for us to drive and walk on. They are away from their families, out in the cold, and working long hours to help others. I want to thank you for those workers, and I pray that you bless them abundantly. Finally, Lord, I just want to pray for the safety, health and warmth of everyone out there. Like a shepherd watches over his sheep, you are watching over your people. For you are the greatest Shepherd.
I pray this all in Jesus' name,
Amen!
Please stay safe and warm out there everyone! And give everything to God. For he is the one who controls the wind and the rain, the ice and the snow.
