A Poem for My Beloved Savior

The Gift of All Gifts

On that day at Calvary

A long, long time ago

The King of all kings

Wore a crown of thorns

Instead of gold and a robe.

What would make a man do such a thing?

To sacrifice his life for you and for me.

In a world full of hate

He chose love.

Love for you

And love for me.

It's a love I've never seen before

A gift no one could ever give but him.

I can't give him anything that will compare in return

Because this priceless gift was unique

I can, however,

Spend the rest of my life

Praising the name of my beloved Savior

My Saving Grace

My Mesiah

My Jesus

Now it's my turn

To carry my cross

In remembrance of you

And die doing what brings me my most joy:

Loving you.

Inspired by Matthrew 16:24-25
