Run to Him Blindly
Mark 10:49-50 NKJV
“So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, ‘Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.’ And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus.”
This is a story that I feel we can't share enough. This specific scripture right here shares a brief story of what faith looks like. No matter how educated in the faith we may be, our faith will always be blind. Here's why: Our faith is all about putting our trust in a God we know from the church messages, the Sunday school stories, and even VBS, but ultimately, we cannot see Him. We have not met Him face to face. We are blind to his full glory.
But here, Mark shares the account of a blind man who, obviously couldn't see Jesus due to his condition, but knew His voice. And despite the onlookers shushing him, he cried out to Jesus. And when he was summoned to Jesus, he not only threw off his beggar's clothes, but he ran to Jesus blindly because he knew his life was about to be changed forever. I pray that this passage might inspire you to be bold and run blindly to Jesus amid all life’s seasons. Though this man may have been looked at as less fortunate, maybe even unclean, He knew Jesus. And without hesitation, he RAN to Him in faith. That's a pretty strong faith if you ask me.
