It's Time to Take Possession

Deuteronomy 1:21 NKJV

"Look, the Lord your God has set the land before you; go up and possess it, as the Lord God of your fathers has spoken to you; do not fear or be discouraged."

In our last devotion, we discussed the idea of wandering through life's seasons of lack (A.K.A the wilderness). But most don't know that there is a promised land waiting just on the other side. Here, the Israelites wandered around in the desert for forty years before they took possession of the land of Canaan, which they inherited through the promise God made to their fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And while we will always see some sort of good come from the "wilderness" seasons of our lives, we, too, have a promised land waiting for us to take possession of. This can only be obtained through Christ. When we believe and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we become heirs to the promised land above all promised lands. A promised land that will far outweigh the land flowing with milk and honey that the Israelites took possession of. While our days spent in the wilderness may seem to go on for years and years, we must not fear or get discouraged, but trust that Jesus has prepared a place for us in our promised land-that is Heaven. A promised land where there is no such thing as pain, suffering, and lack. A promised land that is not lonely and desolate but is full of praise and God's goodness. And all we must do, now, is go up and possess it!
