You're Allowed to Start Fresh Each Day

Lamentations 3:22-23 NIV

"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

      Wouldn't it be nice if you could wake up every morning and just start over? Yesterday may have been rough. The whole week may have even been rough at that matter! You may have done or said some things you didn't mean. Maybe you yelled at your kids, told a little white lie, complained about things in your life, or spread some information that you weren't sure if it was true or not. Don't be so hard on yourself. The good news is that nobody is perfect. We are all human, and we weren't created to be perfect. We were just created to believe and depend on the one who is perfect. Because God loves us so much, he sent Jesus to wipe away our sins, our Uh-Oh's, our moments when we fall short of perfection and makes us new each day. It is through Christ that we see forgiveness, true forgiveness. Forgiveness that allows us to wake up each morning and start the day new. It doesn't matter what you were faced with yesterday because God's mercy says, "today's a new day. I have forgotten your sins from yesterday, and today you may start fresh." It is important that we offer repentance to the Lord for the times we do fall short, but we can rejoice in the fact that God's grace and mercy are offered to us each morning, allowing us to continue to grow in our love for Christ. I want to encourage you to never stop striving for righteousness because God isn't giving up on you.
