Who's Your Supplier
Philippians 4:12-13 NIV
"I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret to being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all things through him who gives me strength."
One of my favorite drinks in the world is a hot cup of Earl Grey tea. I drink two cups every morning to start my day. As always, a splash of unsweetened almond milk and a tablespoon of honey complete my morning treat. I don't just use any honey, though. I'm very particular about which honey I use. Because of the health benefits, and because I know what goes into it, I prefer using raw, locally raised honey that you can only buy at the drive-thru down the road from my house. My husband and I like to joke around, calling the carry-out owner my "supplier." Since this is a small, locally-owned bee farm that produces the honey that the carry-out sells, they can only market so much. Once the honey sells out, it's off the shelves until their next harvest, and I'm left to look for another source for my honey habit.
Like my honey supplier, God is a supplier... the supplier at that. God supplies us with the strength that we need to get out of bed in the mornings. He supplies us with the strength to endure another day at work. He supplies us with the strength to recover from an illness, and it is his strength that sustains us whether we're living in lack or abundance. As a result, we have non-stop access to God's strength, so that we may endure any situations of this life. And unlike my honey, which leaves me searching for a bottle with questionable ingredients after my supply has been depleted, his strength is everlasting and will satisfy us even in the toughest of times. No matter the season you're walking through right now, I want to encourage you to tap into God's strengthening supply and see where it takes you. You can do all things through He who strengthens us.
