Sitting at the King's Table
Psalm 23:5 NIV
"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows."
Life's hard, friends. People are mean. Unfair things happen to us. But here's the thing. We can get worked up, mope around, and try to get even with our adversary, but nothing we say or do will ever compare to the vindication we see from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The problem that arises when we try to take things into our own hands is that we may fall victim to sin in the process. However, when we lift our problems to the Lord and entrust them in His hands, we can live a life of righteousness. Then, one day, Jesus will have a table prepared for His guests of honor. The ones who chose to turn the other cheek and allowed Him to take care of their problems. With the good and faithful Judge on our side, we get to sit and eat with the King at the table of righteousness while our enemies suffer the consequences of their actions here on earth.
