Patience Before Blessings

Micah 7:7 NIV

"But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me."

I'm sure we've all heard the saying, "patience is a virtue," but I must say that that saying meant nothing to me in my younger years. It wasn't because I was incapable of being patient, but more or less because I didn't understand it. Why did I have to be patient when I could go out and do something at that moment? But you see that plan didn't always pan out for me. Here's why: some things needed to happen in God's perfect timing. For many like me, patience tends to be an issue because while we may trust in God, we seem to send up our prayers to Him, but then later revoke them because they haven't happened on our watch. But let me tell ya, God's plans are made perfect in His timing. Friends, God hears us, and He isn't withholding any of His goodness from us. When we cry out to the Lord and our prayers are not answered immediately, that is because He has a plan which might I remind you is always better than our plans-and in His perfect timing, that plan will come to pass. So, while we're waiting for our prayers to be answered, we are to wait eagerly for the Lord, anticipating the blessings He has in store for us. When we do that, we are choosing to embody Christ in our own lives by putting our trust in God and all of His promises.
