He's Fighting for You
2 Corinthians 10:3-4 NIV
"For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."
In this life, we will see war. Not just war among the nations, but war against the enemy. The devil plays a dirty game. Often times he uses the situations we're faced with, like our troubles and suffering, and invades our thought process. In turn, this causes a mental war inside our minds. Our thoughts seem to be the easiest route for the devil to use to get inside our heads. Once he's gained access to our minds, he's better able to reroute our thought process-often times maximizing our problem and minimizing God's power and ability. Because his ways can be so destructive, worldly weapons simply won't do. However, because we are not of this world, the weapons we possess are not of this world; They're supernatural. These supernatural forces come rushing to our defense the moment we cry out.
As children of God, we have got the creator of the universe on our side. We must never forget that He who conquered death is the one fighting our battles. Because He broke the stronghold of death and sin, there is not a stronghold too powerful or a tactic too sly for Him to overcome on our behalf. All we must do is sit back, trust God and put our faith in the fact that He will bring us out of this war victoriously. It's important, though, that we prepare ourselves for this war on the enemy. When we know what the word of God says, and we practice living by it every day, we are better able to access our weapons when we're under fire. Thus, capturing our thoughts, demolishing the lies we are being fed by the devil, and replacing them with what is right, what is true, and what is just.
