When You've Lost All Hope

1 Peter 5:10 NIV

"And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast."

In one way or another, we are all suffering from something. Whether it be mentally, physically, financially, or even spiritually, we are afflicted everywhere we turn. One day, your life may seem great, and things are going well. Then, before you know it, the wind gets knocked right out of you. When we look at the world we're faced with, it's easy to get discouraged and lose hope. But I'm here today to tell you that not all hope is lost. We don't have to live each day defeated and just going through the motions. You see, when Jesus was hung on the cross, he didn't just die to forgive our sins. He gave us a bonus gift to go along with salvation. He gave us the gift of hope, that we could have a greater relationship with God. He bore out punishments so that, now, we don't have to, and it is because of this act that we can live in closeness with God. Now, we can see the fullest of his grace in our lives and have hope for a future in paradise with him. We will see hard times on this earth. Life's challenges can break you down and leave feeling helpless, but we can rejoice in our God because we have the promise of Heaven all thanks to Jesus Christ. In Heaven, our strength, our health, our minds, and our whole selves will be restored. So, instead of feeling bad about the present situations we're afflicted by (because they are only temporary), let us rejoice in the fact that there is hope for an unthinkable future waiting for us on the other side of this life.

Are you wearing your suffering around, dressed in your problems? Or do you have faith in our God and hope for a restored future?
