Death is Defeated; Forgiveness Prevails!
Isaiah 25:7-8 NIV
"On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people's disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken."
We go through a lot as humans on this earth. We face trial, temptation and suffering. We laugh, we cry, we get angry, we fall short of living the life of a perfect Christian. If you're anything like me, it's in those moments when you fall short, you mess up and even sin that you might beat yourself up for it. Maybe even worse, you dwell in your shortcomings and iniquities because you're so upset with yourself. But let me tell you something that I, too, must remind myself each day: Jesus died. Jesus died so that we didn't have to. On the road of righteousness, he made room for us to fall because he knew that he would be there to catch us and wipe away our tears one day. What we face on this earth is hard, but because Jesus died, he defeated death once and for all. Because of this, Jesus offers us the gift of forgiveness in hopes that we take advantage of the opportunity to be made new and work towards a life after our time here on earth. A life far greater than what we've been dealt here.
